Default Flashing - Receiver not Found

Hi, I'm connecting using a Keyspan USB2Serial device, which works fine with my Infinity USB Phoenix. But I am also using a gender changer... this could possibly introduce problems, but dont see why. Everytime I try to flash my box, I get "Receiver not found" message. I have tried all three versions. I'm not certain which box I have, but I do know its a Eurovox Max V and its NOT a clone. Looking at the tuners position, if what I have read is right, would indicate that I have the red box, but i'm not certain about this. Anyone else had such a problem? Not got the opportunity to use a PC with a natural serial port atm. Thanks

Isn't the max v in a black box? The red box is 2007 and the blue 2006. So i dont think it is a red box if its a max v

Well, its a black receiver yes. I read that if the tuner is in line with the 8th grill down on the right then it's a red.... have I misread or been misinformed? Either way, all three of the updates come up with the same message.

It's a Max V (Man this is confusing lol). it doesn't have red paint type of thing on any of the screws, so don't think its a clone? Compared it to the Ireland Eurovox page and it appears to be original.

I had problems using the USB cable i posted about it in another thread regarding which cable to use i can't post a link yet so here was my reply:

'Gandolf i don't think you can get the USB one with a female on the end it is a male which means you will have to buy an adapter. I bought mine from a local shop and found that the new software only looks for the com ports and not the usb. I connected the adapter by itself and that worked a treat - would have only cost me about £2 the USB wasn't needed. Hope this helps'

Again hope this helps it might not be the same problem tho

Thanks for the reply, but I don't see why - The USB device creates a com port, so the software should look for a COM port and find it. Time to fire up a PC with serial port on - think I gotta install XP on it tho, FFS.

My misses has been complaining about my pc stuff for years, I have a cupboard full of it. I'm glad it's not just me.
