So how's the new firmware working for you?

I've got a Max V 2008. The keys changed at about 8AM this morning. The box came up with an "Insert Smart Card" message so I switched it over to Sky Sports and it then changed to the usual "Updating codes" screen. After a few seconds, the picture came back but the sound did not and the "Updating codes" box was still on screen. I left it for a while longer (about 10 minutes), but nothing changed so I tried switching to another channel which gave the "Insert Smart Card" message again. Not good. I had to turn the box off and back on a few times to get it to update properly. This is the first time I've had an issue with the codes auto-updating (other than the events of the past few days of course). How's the new firmware been working out for you guys?

Whoa, not the best news, but your still getting a picture. I guess there is still a few bugs in it. :S

jury's out so far, but doesnt look good

I updated firmware last night and at first it wouldnt detect the vox. anyway, update seemed ok, went to bed, left vox on Sky Sports 1

checked this morning about 8.30 - 8.45 and it was working ok

left vox on

came home
tonight, turned tv on, and dispaly said "insert smartcard". changed channels and "updating code" displayed

went into menu to check codes, and they were all blank

got new codes from bigmaq, input and everything is working. dont know for how long though

Try a fastory reset if not working?

Same thing for me. It did update automatically in the end though, it was just more hassle than usual getting it to work, as usually I'd just switch to Sports 1 and leave it for a minute or two. Even after the codes updated and the channels unlocked, if I press Menu then the yellow button, the provider code and both keys are just all 0's.

Guys when plugged your boxes back in did you make sure that Emulation and EMM Capture were enabled as this may have been your problem.

Press Menu, Language Settings and key in 1968 once and you should see these two options appear at the bottom of the list. If these are disabled they can impact on auto-updating and they should be checked every time you disconnect and re-connect power to your box (ie. perform a factory reset)

wiz, the post isnt THAT long, and its relevant to both threads. i couldve changed the words to make it particular to each one, but whats the point? Why have 2 threads on very similar topics and then complain when someone replies to both?

And thanks for asking, but the vox IS working now, as i said in my post.
