hi i posted earlier but no one actually answered my exact question but never mind lol . ive now brought a rs232 null cable modem for my red 07 eurovox so i can download the firmware. wot i need to no how can i tell if my box is a clone ? i dont really want to start unscrewing the box etc to look as shown in a previous thread ? i just dont want to harm the box as it says i will do if its a clone ! i brought the box about a year ago off flebay he seems to sell a lot and still does if that is any clue to anyone ? and 1 other question ive been reading some other threads and they are saying something about a adapter will i need one of these to connect it all up??? help plzzzzzzzzzzzzz thankyou all x

You only need a usb adapter if you don't have a com port on your pc, you will know if you have one or not as it will be the only port that your cable will fit. As for knowing if it is a clone or not, the only true way is to take it apart to check the things pointed out in the pictures. Sorry, I would like to say that there is a secret menu or something to tell you but it is not that simple. Clones were made to look just like the real boxes.

ok thanks for that i no where i got it from as there still selling them on flebay a year on do u think if i contact them they would be honest ? and has anyone else brought one from there ?

I bought my from ebay bout a year ago aswell updated firmware and its fine cant remember who i got it off tho. If your box came in a blue box and its a 2007 then its a clone if it came in a red box then i think your alright as they didnt release a clone in a red box, please correct me if im wrong.

thanks it came in red box 07 just looked on flebay again as i saved the company to my fav sellers so i could find them easy and he does state there not clones so all i have to do is attempt to do flash lol
