been on this for 5 hours . when i start the fix and presss download it flicks between com port 1 ,3 ok ive disabled com port 3 and still it does not work . restarted pc and tried nowt. black euro vox is legit and so is my xp plz help im on msn come and chat

hi i am having the same problem, it keeps on jumping from com 1 to com 3 and wont retrive my box, pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaseee help???

Change your com port settings in device manager to com port 2 and try again.

done all that changed to 1 2 3 everything nothing

Are you using an rs232 NULL MODEM cable or a standard serial cable?

Are you using an rs232 to USB adapter?

You might want to try a different cable if you can and see if that makes a difference. If it doesn't then if you can get your hands on a different pc to send the code then you should try that. If that doesn't work either than that says that the problem is probably with the box. You will just have to systimatically rule out anything that could be causing the problem.

i have just looked at the cable i bought and it is a serial lead (rs232) order code L68BT from Maplin. I have just realised this is the wrong cable(although it looks the same).

The one i need, is the
Serial Null Modem 9-Pin Female to 9-Pin Female order number L71BT

I reckom when i get the right cable it should be ok

this might be the problem??

I almost bought the wrong cable in Maplins Dublin. The lad in the shop pointed me to the right thing "null" fair play to him

thats is it i just tried it on my mates comp same thing looks like i bought the wrong cable
