Default Channels (Not the "updating code" problem)

Hi guys, how you doing?

Seeing as the majority of people on here are clued up on all the stuff to do with eurovox', i was wonderring if someone could please help me and tell me how i back up my channel list and save the order i have them in in case i never need to restore the factory settings and lose it all.

i think its covered in one of the tutorials or you could do a search

the info is stored in a file with extension CDL. the same software that updates the firmware will also save the CDL to your PC (and send it to the Vox)

you need a null modem cable to do it, and a serial socket on your PC, or a serial to USB adaptor.

it takes a minute or so
all standard stuff, described plenty of times

connect your box to pc via null modem cable.
switch the power on your box. then press download next to the exit button. once finished save the file as ie bills channels. then if you need to put them back to box, same procedure
but press upload.
i take it you have the loader from the dowload section to do the above

Thats the wrong way round - you upload to the PC and download to the Eurovox.

Can you use a cdf file from a black box for a red or blue box??

Just to clarify the file extension is CDF - Channel Definition File

yes, theyre interchangeable (I asked the same question a while back, so I could sort out the channels for a m8- I gave him mine)
