Default Input problem

hey guys, hoping someone can help with this.

mr borther in law just got a eurovox max v 2008, ive installed it at my house round the corner and got it all working with new firmware and keys etc etc. got a 6952 cdf and its all good. tried it at his house, literally 200 yards away, and it just says no signal. ive tried without splitters and everything but still no signal. this is direct from the wall so im lost on what the issue is. the house has BM tv installed so i cant figure out what it is. anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

So he has the Virgin Media Services currently installed and being subscribed?
-If so, are you connecting direct to THAT specific socket.
-If so, do you have any other coaxial cables you can try... or another adaptor, or anything.
-If not, try THAT socket.

Thanks

its defo the right cable, coming straight from the box outside, and its defo in the right socket on the box. i did a test for the signal by plugging it into to coax rf input on the tv and it didnt even show a picture for terrestrial, even tho it works on the proper BM box. i did notice that it was plugged into the BM box (before i messed with it) via a 6dB forward path attenuator. is it possible that the signal on the cable just isnt strong enough to go thru anything except the legit box?
