usb to rs232 problem
 bought usb to rs232 adaptor from maplin.tried to flash starview no joyflashed on mates pc using just rs232 cable no problem. is a special usb to rs232 adaptor needed. |

Usb-serial adapters will not work mate,buy a pci serial card and use that usb cannot handle the data correctly

I dont know about that. I did my own starview with a similar lead. I found that by trying it in all my usb ports. and then installing it. make sure you get a usb to serial port not just cable. keep trying it will work eventually. |

You need a USB-Serial AND a null-modem lead. The USB-Serial needs to be configured to use COM1 to COM4 and may not work at all in Vista
