Default coms port 8?

i know i need coms3 but the only coms port i have is coms8, all help will be greatly thanked.... i have the software and the correct cable, etc etc but no coms3

It doesn't really matter what com port it is, mine is on 1.

The loader will only read com ports 1-4.

Try reassigning the port no.

I'm on XP and would do it this way (dunno bout other systems):

Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Device Manager
Ports (COM & LPT)

double click on the one you've connected the box to
Go to Settings Tab
Advanced and select your port no. there

ok done that, but i have the yellow !, mext to it, so tried the flash any way and i have, waiting response from your receiver and have don for about 10 minutes?

Stop the download (just close all the windows)

Was something else already assigned to that no.

Change it back to 8 and check the Ports list. If something is already assigned to the no. you used then swap em round (you can always swap em back after).

Download again - the download process only takes about 3 minutes

Now you're exaggerating

Only 6 minutes between the two posts.

But you've got me - unless you can find out what the warning is about.

What kind of cable are you using to connect the box up?

ok maybe a bit of exaggerating, what a few mins between friends

null moden cable i get with the box as a fee b,

and i have changed it back to com8, and yes there was somthing on com3 but what i dont know.software maybe?

and how do i swop them around?
