Channels obtained without new key or flashing

I don't know why or how, but without carrying out a key code update I'm currently recieving all channels.

Yesterday afternoon the usual daily event of "updating" message hit the screen.

Left home and didn't come back till after 10pm, wife tells me that the channels came back on thier own (she's been briefed on update procedure and I've checked, the codes are the same as they were before loss of service). No techno faires have been in the night and added any firmware either.

I note that there hasn't been an update on xCW since 11.31 roll yesterday.

Can we assume from this I have a "fix" however temporary?

I'm a little confused as to how this has occured, can anyone shed any light on it?

But why would I start recieving again after the "update" message appeared for hours and I did nothing?

I can't see them changing the key code back to previous code for the fun of it?

However, who's argueing eh?

mine was working over a keychange before, maybe a bug in there system. but i was running a morning key that did last for 24 on nthell on thurdsay last i think. But the following roll did affect me

When companies change the encryption slightly to outwit people obtaining it illegally sometimes it goes wrong so they have to revert back to an older version of the encryption until the problem is sorted out

TPS a satellite company in France did a similar thing a few months back where they went back to an old encryption set and then started rolling old keys again about ten times every hour

They then implemented their new setup and within 24 hours it was wide open again on auto update

That may be what is happening here

With me, I had the Ex C+* codes from yesterday, which they scrambled. As the codes have still not been updated I put the default codes in, saved, rebooted then re-entered yesterdays code and hey presto, channels back.

They have probably found out people have a firmware fix for the rolling codes reverted back to the old encryption. Now trying to fix the loop hole which the firmware uses to block the boxes again. Just an idea. Or all the staff at VM are strike because they also own a eurovox and can no longer get theres working

prob find the peeps rolling the keys (convinced its done manually area by area) work mon to fri 9-5
