Default No channels after updating Max V Firmware

Hi Techwatchers,

I decided to update to the latest firmware to avoid inputting the keys in daily. I followed the instuctions in the sticky and was happy to see it updated successfully.

Unfortunately I cannot receive a single channel after a "fast install". It scans 770 channels, and if I press the red "update channels" I just see the message "No Transponder to Scan".

On previous firmware I received 300 channels. Any ideas guys?

System Info: Model DVB-XC BoxV TDA
S/W Version 1.0 STC4 Apr 10 2008
H/W Version 2.0t K5
Bootstrap V001
S/W Build Kuro

Anyone help??

Perhaps you could upload a cdf file on to your box, but I am sure there will be other options.

under language settings, theres Emulation and EMM capture, see if there enabled.

my settings are Emulation - Enabled and EMM Capture - Disabled.

Idealy in hingsight you should have made a back up of your CDF file before updating the firmware and then drop the file back to the box afterwards.

What area are you in someone from your area may have a cdf file to send you or search through the CDF sticky for a file for your area.

You just have to rescan the box on powerscan as the new update wipes out all the channel settings

I flashed a Eurovox Max V for a friend last night and had to do exactly the same. Once i did a power scan everything came back on again.

I dare say there is a program available that will allow you to back up your channel settings just like the program Dreamedit which i use to back up my Dreambox

You may have to reset the symbol rate as i know this does differ between old NTL & Telewest areas

Hi Guys,

I didn't make a .cdf file as the channels were pretty much all over the place before. In Leeds W.Yorks if any one could pm me one.

As for trying a "power scan", this was same as "Fast Install". Took ages to scan 1-770 and then I still had no chanels. Green level/quality bars average 80%.

Is there something I am missing? Basically I updated firmware. Connected cable into rf in and "power scanned" Do I need to manually input any info?
Also can I input transponders or are they just found by the eurovox?

Thanks again

hi sajid78, I don't think I could use it because before I updated firmware I used the keys for ex C&W to manually update.
Thanks for the offer though.

So are the only settings I need to change on Symbol rate? I have scanned on 6887 but goes through to scan without picking up a single channel!

I have done several power scans and fast scans but have not found a single channel. I had 303 or so found before i upgraded the firmware. I scanned on pure signal (no splitters etc?) but still nothing.

Has the updated firmware ruined my box? Hope not. Can you roll back firmware?

Thanks
