can anyone tell me what type of adaptor is required to read the chip that is desoldered off the samsung board please?
i already got a weller programmer as i know how to do the tsop out of 360 hitachi drives but,i am only familiar with the tsop32. so what type adaptor is required so i can rewrite them instead of having to buy blank ones. or if someone can tell me what tsop this chip is i would be gratefull.

i think this programmer will do the trick for rewriting the chip from the samsung.
USB 24xxx I2C E-Eprom programmer - Microchip, ATMEL on eBay, also Assemblies EM Devices, Components Supplies, Electrical Test Equipment, Business, Office Industrial (end time 13-Apr-08 01:41:24 BST) an amtel 24c512 should go in the samsung box and this programmer will read and write them chips so i think its safe to assume that this will read/write the samsung chip that has to be rewritten. will save me having to spend a few quid every time i need to put a blank chip back in,instead i will rewrite the original one.over time it will pay for itsself.

I know this thread is a bit old but came across it doing a search, I am in process of modding a sammy 2110 I acquired (I am new to modding boxes but not to Starview's etc...) and in a tut I downloaded it says about removing the chip and replacing or flash it with ffff etc... I cannot re-write it or find which one it is at maplins but now I read on here I do not need to do this? I have cut the talkback by removing the 4 caps needed to do this and that is as far as I have got. It does come with a paired card but I do have funcards and a CAS 3 so I can program cards. What is my best option and how please. Appreciate any advice.

if u have a paired card and if the card is not unlooped then u will need an unlooper something like a t911 unlooper (there are other unloopers aswell) u will need unloop the card to get the bk & ird of that box as 2110 cant be jtagged or led simm.

if the box was suscripbed and u cancelled the suscription then vm may send a fake bk & ird to the card so there no worth get an unlooper it would be useless and waste of money, if u want to modify then u will need to get a different box then can be jtag or led simm but it depends on ur area some boxes dont work in certain areas.
