Dbox and streaming with VLC

Hi Guys,

I am trying to stream some avi's from my pc to the dbox.

I have the Neutrino Sportster 1.10 and I am using VLC 0.8.6 (latest release). When I stream the file the avi tries to start and then just says buffering.

Apparently is something to do with the latest builds of the VLC software (dbox doesnt like it) and that i should use any version below 0.8.4 (or something like that). However, when I try and use a previous version the dbox grumbles saying something like "make sure you are using at least version 0.8.5" so I'm a little stuck.

I have been reading that some guys are patching the VLC so it works, does anyone have a patch to allow the 0.8.5 or 0.8.6 to work properly with the dbox? I could get the src code, make the changes for myself and then recompile but it's going to take me ages to learn what to do it.

vlc_086_dbox_patch_v1.zip is the file your looking for. Just google the file name, it will give a link to the digitalworldz forum. I hope this helps but it is the usual minimum post requirments before you can download. There is also a good thread on here called Dbox 2 recording internet problems
