If however you somehow got your box chipped then thats just stupid if it dont work get them bitches out to fix it just put your dodgy box away. 90% of engineeers dont care if you have a dodgy box dont flame them though just dont let them see it.

there isnt any chipping as such in a digital box cc box,the term comes from an old analoge box where an eprom was reprogramed.only a track cut on the board or tuner depending on model, its simply a case of finding the box key and the ird number and entering this on software and programing to the card.
as mentioned if this is a wise move or not is open to debate. |

but the fact that this is a nearly new (less than 12 monthes) and has not been used,as its in the front room, which we don't use thought VM might query why a second box has gone wonky hence my question on how to tune a legit box in as i have tried a few differant ways all have been unsuccessful I'm not interested in chipping/clonning my legit box at all |

**** happens, get a replacement box off them, and tell them if this ones goes the same way as the last one you will want compensating in some manner. You have got to complain at least.

You don't need to raise any questions, but you could ask the engineer if there is a common fault on that particular box.
I recently had a problem with a couple of HDD recorders, sent them both back, got really snotty with the company, got branded box for same price (took some moaning). When I came to install my latest one , I noticed the plug from my aerial lead was oozing water. This was in turn leaking through into the HDD recorder causing the fault, got on the roof and put the cap back on the junction box of the aerial. No problems since. I have not had my real box plugged in for almost a year, keep saying I will install it in the bedroom but never get round to it. |
