step by step guide to update your new rom to fix key problam.

Hey people im kinda dumb with these things but just wondering i got the "latest keys" from Bigmaq so do i just put them in the tuxbox keylist area on my Dbox?? because everything else that i read confuses me Manchester1970? masalawalla?? much appreciated thanx.

Dosent matter what image you got just add the dbox fix to your dbox.

D_uk@ you add the new rom provided via the toolbar or download the files
via this web site, altering the keylist issnt needed no more ............

You only need rom 7 and rom 10......

if you also got nagraepr11.bin also add rom 11.

The new rom is for the dbox add it to a directory called keys or key some meachines might
have a diffrent folder named theo.......

if you have a folder not called key or keys then your have to cheek every folder
untill you see the same name as the new downloaded rom7 and rom10 files.

Updated my step by step with the correct ip address as pointed out sorry for that all....

ftp settings don't work. tried it last night and also with your update redarrows. i get to the stage where i change the i.p. , open the browser and nothing. no window to re-new the image, just a blank window as if you ain't connected to the net.

That should work, there are lots of IP settings that should work as well.

Don't forget that you need a CROSSOVER ethernet cable if connecting the box directly to your PC. You can also use a proper FTP program like FlashFXP.

There are a few different passwords in use, for the d-box, try dbox, dbox2, commando (or the image name in use). For the Dreambox, try dreambox


Remember that the boxes are Linux based and linux is case sensitive.

Had a bit of a prob with this , but got it to work in the end I am using Andromeda 2 image and had to set password and user name on dbox, to get access. was using flash ftp, Thanks to all for the help given, it took me a while but I got there in the end and learned a lot along the way. As I am running LINUX PCOS 2008 things are not quite as easy. you would think that it would be, but most things hear are for Windows operating Machines.

So I Dont Need To Be Connected To The Internet? Just Need To Connect My Modem To The Dbox? So I Shud Disconnect It From The Pc And Connect That Part Of The Lead To The Dbox?

Yes. It all depends on your setup. I have to disconnect from web when flashing as I use my router cable to link the two.

well here goes, bought a crossover cable, hopefully the guides n a bit of
luck will get my box back on for the old firm game on wed lol! not too clued up tho so any advice would be appreciated,

what i done was download the magic files from the download section on this site and copyed them to them key folder on ma dbox a nd all the channels came bk
