can i do this with a standard ethernet lead or null modem cable or do i need a crossover ethernet lead?

I have followed the document from redarrows its excellant but I have one problem. I get error 505 permission error and I have checked the permissions on the box for the folder keys and it is set to read write. but when I press ok on the remote for the Dbox I get 'Unknown error 256'
Can anyone help please.

hello there,

I am in need of some assistance, I'm about half way thro however i am unable to acces the ftp: // 192 etc from the Internet browser, is this just me or is it the web page and if so is there any other routes i can take

Please help cos council tele is doing my box in.

redarrowsor any other helpful individual i hope ur still feeling as helpful as u have been to many peeps on here.
havent been able to access the downloads yes. maybe this is my 5th post! but ive run thru all ur tuts and copied the roms.
and ive changed the keys to those on the toolbar.
i even tried swapping the 00 01 as suggested on another post. that got everything working to begin with a few days ago.
but began to lose channels again after that and then after the codes changed on the toolbar it didnt matter what i did. at the moment there are 2 keys entered for rom7 and ive turned off auto update on evocamd and and altho i can see movies and sports and terrestrial i dont get UKTV, dave, setanta, discoveryand many misc others
any ideas.my hot mail is aye.bee uk

Ive been doing the step by step i get passed doing the username and password but when i click ok all i get is a blank screen ! ive followed it word for word ! any ideas plz ! thanx

helpppppp...... your step by step tutorial doesnt seem to work for me
your link 198..... does not work for me either. pls can u address this issue as u seem to be getting very angry with fellow members... but pls understand we r not all super duper computer nerds!.... so pls can u send me a very detail very "basic" tutorial. thank u in advance.

i got into the keys folder and when i tried to pass the files into the key folder it doesnt say overwrite it says open or save , im only a few clicks away from sorting this ! plz help
