**Sorry it's a Dbox but says dbox2 when booting up***
Hi all, I'm in an analogue area (still in the dark ages in parts of Manchester!) but using Dbox and it picks up every channel (that I want) except Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3 and MUTV. Is there any way of getting these channels without moving to a digital area? Can I do a manual scan for them or would it not work? No entirely sure how to do a bruteforce scan (I don't seem to have the option when I disable fast scan). I have Sporster image, I think v1.1 which my 'friend' installed when he got me the box about 2 yrs back. Also, is it possible to have a wireless connection to my PC to stream video files (similar to my Xbox 360). Thanks for your help in advance! ![]() Last edited by robbo21982; 13-04-08 at 07:08 AM. |

Hi all, still looking for some help. Firstly, any idea of the frequency for SS1/SS2/SS3/MUTV so I can do manual scan for them? Secondly, is it worth adding bruteforce files to try to get them that way or would it make no difference as the signal in my area may not be strong enough (see prev post) as I'm in an analogue area?
Sorry if these sound like stupid questions but just finding my feet with the technical side of things. Thanks |

You are obviously in a Digital area as you are receiving Digital channels.
With a newer image you can set your location, so it will scan according to your NetID and with background (or sectionsd) scanning on it can find extra channels in the background. You could try a bruteforce or slow scan as well if the others don't find the Sports channels. Sometimes using a different UCODE or Avia Driver can make a difference.

I've updated the image to the Laky Pro image which is working fine but it still finds no more channels than I had before, regardless of how I search. I can assure you I'm in an analogue area though, when checking address on VM website and by calling them, they confirm I'm in an analogue area.
Any suggestions? |
