Default Techwatch Rules

8 Simple Rules: PLEASE READ

1. Keep it legal: Don't post keys, firmware, or similar to the forums;

2. Don't link to illegal content on other sites on the public forums

3. Don't PM staff demanding help - post questions to the forums

4. Read the forums before posting - chances are the question has already been asked - and answered

5. Post in the right forums - eg, don't post cable issues in the satellite section

6. Keep it civil - abusive attitude won't be tolerated

7. No post clocking - don't make junk posts just to get your post count up. Instead of posting "thanks" use the [Thanks] button

8. No advertising - new members can't post links, spam is removed, and websites that spam Techwatch are censored forever

Three breaches and there's an automatic ban.

Also, do consider making a donation to staff if they help you - the donate button is at the top right of the forums.

For gawd sake get that one right - you wouldnt believe the number of cable related posts that end up in the sat forum!

Mistakes happen - we have all posted something in the wrong section, but a lot of the time it just suggests that the cable users on the site are too thick to use the forum properly - when was the last time you saw a sat post in the cable forum?

Hi, just a bit of feedback really, I am relatively new tho the site (one of the horrible people who had problems back in April), but I still use the site regularly just to keep my own knowledge up to date and my ear to the ground. i have just signed up as a member to post threads, although never needed to do this before as im not lazy and dont mind looking for the information I require. In rule number 7 you talk about post 'clocking'. I am unfamiliar with the term, could you please clarify?

Thanks

Its normally bumping up your post count by random rubbish like Hi or thanks 10 times, you used to need so many posts before you could access downloads or use pm, or as i just infracted someone for keep starting duplicate threads. Your the type of member we like one who reads and researches before asking questions, and your very welcome.
