Default Latitude help!!

I know this is probably a silly question but my latitude is 53.8030. The question is do I set the motor clamp to 53 or 54??

Many thanks.

pasted the halfway mark, so its 54, however you will need to put 53,8
in the disqs brain with the long/de setting as well.

You don't have to worry about the figures for dish elevation if you don't want to.

An alternative is to adjust the dish elevation for max signal on the satellite closest to your south, after sending the motor there with USALS, and adjust the azimuth of the whole assembly by swivelling it around the pole.

Don't the motors and the dish usually come with a manual/table which tells you what your dish elevation is depending on your latitude?

Yes they do, some make perfect sense, and others like mine are confusing.
Besides the elevation scale on some dishes can be a bit inaccurate.

I found when I got my Chinese motor, the manual was awful, now I dont have a problem, experience tells, mind you I pulled my hair out several times, I found the most important thing to be,get the pole it all fastens to dead plumb straight, if it is out problems, the lat and long are really simple from a good OS map, or the local County Council web site, four years ago I was in the, not have a clue situation, thank the lord my dish was at ground leval, but never be afraid to ask, we have all been there.

Beware, fixing the dish and getting your wife or partner to assist can cause fall out, beware.
