Hi there, me again!

Just thought I would ask the question as to why they do this?
Is it just to catch people out or is there another reason?

Also, when this happened to two people I know they disconnected their Vox's and put the old cable box back on - only to find that they had lost many of their subscribed channels. So they then called their provider to get it back on, which they did immediately.
So is this a way of identifying who has the Vox boxes?

Any thoughts.....

Might be something to do with people not paying for the service.

Well.... its kinda like..... these boxes are like.....

well your watching the tv channels but you ain't paying the subscription

Obviously, I thought that - but surely they know that these things are easily overcome...as they have been this week!

I just wondered if they would do it just for that reason as it seems a waste of resources.

I believe sly is threatening to withdraw their contract from these providers as losing money over cable theft.

Sly puts pressure on them as their nds encryption system is more secure then nagra. Sly loosing a lot of money apparently and not very happy.

Ahhhhhh. Poor auld Sly.......

Ahh, that would make sense!
Sly, being the modern day version of Dick Turpin get really upset at such things and so I imagine that they would expect the cable providors to be seen to try to stop it, even if it was quite futile!
