Default tit opus

Folks,

Just got my hands on a titanium 2 card, on the front a previous owner has written opos?
Anyway i'm used to doing funcards with ease, I've read about tit and opus.
I have the duolabs programmer with cas studio. A few questions.
My laptop has no rs232, now im buying tommorow a rs232 to usb, I take it that i will be able to use this with Nagra, win explorer etc? Just configuring the usb port to run as com port and load the bin file either through Nagra or win explorer? Have I got this right? I take it you can't use cas studio to load the bin?
I was a bit confused with the difference between the funcard method and titanium. Why do you have to load the bin file? The bin file for the funcard method was the exteep. What is the difference between exteep in both methods?

If someone can explain method a bit more.

Just a note though with this tit card, it wouldn't write in cas studio when i clicked tit 2 card and put in the necessary exteep hex file etc but when I used the opus, it wrote successfully???

It sounds like a satellite user has converted the card from a Titanium 2 to an Opos, probably because there were no files for the Titanium 2.

Or infinity unlimited usb will work off usb only, i dont think the usb to com port adapter or cable will work as a com port connection, i can remember some posts about this before with lap tops.
The tits and opus work similar to a mosc where you just load the image, the fun card and atmega can use a rom image for the exteep file but also use a flash which has the au on it, or else a hex file like toxic for exteep, you can get a rom 11 bin file on a fun 2 but the bigger hex file needs a fun 4.

i will try the rs232 connection anyway but duolabs did produce card explore which supports usb, much like win explorer, I could use this app abd load the nagra file to the opus card. But I cant seem to find it no where, duolabs link is dead.

Yes I have seen that, I have the opus and the tit both from bigmaq. For both anyway you still need to load a bin file from nagra so my thinking was to use that card explorer which I must say the usb support is a plus but at the minute it's no where to be found on the net.
I have a funcard now in my own box but was going to change it to this opus since the fix is out. There is currently no fix yet for pure ntl au funcard but i suppose it's just a matter of time. Thought about dappling into fixing it myself but with kids running about your feet I aint got the time.

The bin file is attached with the rest of the tit files, also you need to create a bin file too with the box details.

thanks, I know the bin file is attatched to the tit files but inorder to load a tit or opus file I need to use nagra in phoneix mode or win explorer. Card explorer at least supported usb mode where as nagra and win explorer are through com ports.
