Does the eurovox need to be 'in situ' to be updated?
i.e. could i unplug it from the coax feed and move and plug it in near my pc, or does it need to be fully plumbed in with coax to be able to update successfully?
you need to unplug the co-ax/feed and the scart....i just took the box over to the pc and plugged it into a spare 240v socket and plugged the serial lead into the box and pc....updated firmware, took it back over to TV and re-plugged the scart, co-ax/feed, and mains electric....it was black screen for about 8 seconds, then all channs back as good as ever .

I don't think your supposed to leave the coax cable in when updating i dont. All i do is unplug the box take it over to my pc Make sure you plug your null modem cable into the euro vox first then power on and update
