Hi all im new to this was aftera dbox2 but was given a dbox1 off a m8 who got it from germany, got lots of questions
1 . how do i make it find channels as it finds nothing when scanning? 2 . How do i connect it to pc as it has a rs232 but my lead is different? 3 . Do i need a new image as its got dvb2000 on it at the moment? 4. Can anyone point me to a good faq?? Thx |

I think the simple answer to all your problems is get a dbox 2 (two).
To the best of my little knowledge ther is no "easy" way to sort the dbox 1 out, short of lifting surface mount chips / reflashing with a dedicated programmer and resoldering. There is probably a JTAG option, but again not worth the trouble. Imagine the scenario that one week ago you managed to sort it out, sitting there watching your telly and BANG, no more channels, key code changed. Time to get the soldering iron out again... |

You can for the Dbox2, the 1st model needs a fun card and some under the bonnet work. If you know what you're doing though then they're great because you buy them for next to nothing, if not then they're more trouble than they're worth.
