Please can you advise what the difference is between a patched satellite receiver and a card sharing receiver. What do they both do ? How easy are they to use. Ive just been offered Nanoxx 9600 IP receiver which I think is a card sharing receiver how does this work is it as simple as pluggung in the receiver and it works , do I need to update any software (it does say auto update) also this system needs to be plugged into the net is that correct or a bit dodgy Ive also been offered technomate 1500 receiver that is patched, how does this work do I need to update it all the time is this easy to do can there be any problems etc I really am confussed any help would be very welcome please give great details as I am very much new to this Thanks |

To cardshare you need to have a receiver that is capable of it, an internet connection and someone who is willing to share a card with you
![]() These types of receivers need programming to cardshare which isn't something you can pick up overnight. They come with an extremely steep learning curve ![]() If your just starting out i was recommend you steer clear of any linux based receiver ![]() A patched receiver just emulates an encryption using known keys to descramble a broadcast. The TM1500 is a very capable receiver, infact its the first patched receiver i ever had. The only problem is that it is getting a bit old now and it has been superceded by the 3000 & 5000 series which have more functions ![]() ![]() Nano P.s I've deleted the other post you started asking more or less the same question. Please do not duplicate threads as this is very much frowned upon here

The nanoxxx does connect to a card server, is also cloned as max1000 and protek. It does open lots more channels that the tm1500.
The loader for the tm1500 can be found in the beginners guide v2 in the tm section of the forum. For patch's visit satdownloads. All the latest on there. p,s a little know secret the tm1500 can card share too. Its called sssp and you link it up to your pc via null modem cable. Its a little tricky to get to work but I know people who have had a go. ki
