Default Is what I have been told true regarding Pace Boxes?

Hi everyone, Please forgive my ignorance with this post as it is my first time, and I do not wish to cause offence to anybody with my lack of knowledge.

I have been scowering this site since last Wednesday, the day my NTL box went off. I asked my cable guy to re-do my card and he stated that the Funcards will no longer work with my box - a Pace Di4000-N, and I need an original NTL Rom card to get back up and running as these are the only cards which will work. He said he had these but they cost double the price of the Fun card. As I know very little about this I was at his mercy and paid the money. He also stated that once the NTL card has been hit, they are cannot be re-coded and you need to get another one. - Does anybody know if this is the case?

This inspired me to be able to do this myself. I have downloaded the funcard tutorial, and the Bigmaq toolbar to obtain codes. I have read differing opinions on this site for the best hardware and software to use to re-code the cards. Would anybody be as kind as to give / re-give their opinions of the best hardware and software to use to keep a Pace Di4000-N with a NTL Rom card active within the Cheshire area once it goes off again.

I am not asking for people to tell me how to do this, as the funcard tutorial on this site is excellent, but I would appreciate adicve on the best tools to use, as my funds are quite limited.

Many thanks in advance.

First of all, the guy you get your card done from is talking a lot of crap.. you can use fun card for Pace boxes, orginal mosc card do get fried with the hit, which means they cannot be re-done.

Best to get yourself a Dynamite or a USB Infinity Programmer from and a funcard from here Lincsat's Nick-nacks (Shop)

i'm in the same sort of area as yourself (ex c&w)and i've reprogged my funcard a few times now. i've also got a pace box. i use dynamite+ progger and cas studio 8.3 software. Nagraedit to create my card files. I've been keeping track of the latest keys to keep my card upto date. takes 5mins tops to reprog card when the keys roll but i've progged with the latest AutoUpdate and i've not had any problems since then, but i'm not sure if the keys have actually changed since then either!
As long as you know your boxkey and IRD then its easy to prog your funcard. The other fella sounds like he's playing you, but then he's doin it to make a buck isn't he?!?

i got a couple of funcards and a dynamite progger off lincsat a few months back for ballpark 30-35 quid, not that you need 2 cards but you've got one to prog/to$$ about with while the other one stays in the box to keep the 'card removed' screen at bay.

Hello

Thank you to everybody for your help. I have e-mailed lincsat with regards to purchasing a dynamite progger as advised by Jonathan399.

Cheers
