Default EV MaxV: New firmware problem

Greetings,

Weird problem here, I've sucessfully flashed 4 EV MaxV's over the past few days (for friends and family) with the latest firmware and they all work a charm, but there's this one I have which seems to be a right pain in the a**e.

Flashed it with the latest firmware no problem, but when I do a full powerscan it seems not to be picking up any TPs and channels. Signal constantly stuck at 8% or so. Tried reverting back to the older firmware (kuro beta 1) and bingo signal sorted, but than I have to enter the keys manually . The weird bit is, it doesn't even seem like the previous kuro beta2, when flashed with that signal goes back to 8%

Initially thought it might be tuner problem, but than why does it work fine with the first Oct 2007 Kuro?

Any help into this will greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Edit: Just to add, I tried using my saved CDF file into it, but than I get the 'No Signal' problem.

Try using a signal booster. A couple o' peeps seem to have had this prob with the new firmware and the booster sorted it, might be a wee little buggie in the rushed updated.

Thanks for the suggestion mate.

But I don't think its a booster problem, as I said earlier - the other boxes work fine on the same line, its just this one that seems to be having a problem. Works fine on the Oct firmware with manual keys put in, just doesn't seem to like the new firmware.

Maybe it is a clone and does not like the new firmware. I have heard that new firmware has been released for the clones.

Some suffer after the update and some don't but whether is to do with clones or not, who knows.

Anyway have a look at this and decide for yourself Problem With New Firmware

Don't think its a clone. I read the 'how to spot a clone' thread, and mine doesn't seem to be one. Anyway, what if I flashed it with the new clone firmware, would it screw the box up if it weren't a clone?

Just an update. I got in touch with the dealer I bought the box off, he said the tuner might be dodgy and he'll replace the box if it doesn't work at his place as well, so I'm gonna be sending the box back to him tommorow for testing.

Will keep you guys posted.

Thanks.

*UPDATE*

Dealer tested the box and indeed the tuner was faulty, thus the 8% problem.

Sent me a new one and all working fine with the new kuro firmware.

Thanks
