Default Return Path and Eurovox

I know that the eurovox does not send a return signal like the standard cable box, does anyone know if the cable provider differentiates the data sent via the modem from the t.v box, just curious is all.

P.S Does anyone know if there is any truth I found in another post elsewhere on the forum.

I thought the Eurovox and DBox2 have a by-pass chip which talks-back, but states it's on stand-by?
