Eh! sorry mate you are slightly wrong there bout the white box and are apt to scare the preverbials out of all the noobs.

All new black boxes (MaxV 2008s) are now packaged in white cardboard boxes

There was a post here bout a month back or so with info on how to spot a MaxV clone. I'll see if I can find it

Deffo worth the read, im 99.9% certain i have the real deal, box works perfect and has the latest kuro software dated 11/04/2008.

My Eurovox came in a white box and the Eurovox itself has MaxV under the clock and Eurovox to the top right.

Thanks Lucky13.

The easy answer to this should be - (for the non- tecnhical) - look for green resistors missing and any red paint - not exactly a clever clone - wouldn't fool many if take close look

PPS - if any seller said he bought it in good faith then he is either a numpty or fraud - traders know clones and pass them on - if you have clone that cannot update - contact seller to ask for replacement and if they do not play ball - email their local Trading Standards-(quite easy to find using google!). Maybe you not get money back but satisfaction people on their case.
