yes, terrestrial channels do show up, albeit fuzzy.

Yeah. Sounds like cable prob indeed. Your signal rate is fluctuating madly. I would suggest you try a local cdf file as Pete says. What is your signal like without the booster?

Double check all connections including a splitter. Also back of box EV can have dodgy connection.
