Sorry was only reading latest post overlooked you were stuck on standby.

Your problem of updating may be your new add on card is there any chance of you trying to update on a mates computer.
Failing that I would keep trying to contact Cleverbase on their sales and info Email addresses
send an Email to each one twice a day until they answer
When I had a query took me 4 Emails but they did eventually answer.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I only bought this recently so I dont want to open it up to check if its a clone or if the Capacitor is gone as this will void warranty as theres a sticker on the side that will break if case is opened.

Ive been emailing Cleverbase every day on both email addresses and have had no replies (. Emailed them again this morning. This sucks

If any of your m8s has the EV 2008 - perhaps you could try this and see if it works

Copy 1 box to another

Thanks for the advice. According to the instructions there I have to open the lid to press the reset button thus voiding warranty. I will wait a while longer to see if i hear anything from cleverbase

Just an update

Cleverbase have emailed me back with a one line message:

"Turn it off and leave it off for one day and try again"

wtf?? It was obvious that i have switched it off as its pointless leaving it in standby mode
