Hi,

I recently bought the Eurovox V 2008 from Cleverbase and it seems to have developed a fault. It will not get out of Standby mode no matter what I do. I have attempted to contact Cleverbase and they dont reply to emails or to phone calls

.

Can anyone advise me what I can do? I did not get any software with the box. only thing i got was a wire that looks like a serial port wire. Is there something i can do to get it out of standby mode?

p/s i have searched the forum for this problem but only threads i could find were for the 2007 version

hi

Mines from there and it sometimes jams in standby. I switch it off at the wall and it comes back to life again. Very annoying.

also the clock is funny when reset it sorts it out, have not up dated the firmware yet though

Did you update the firmware recently?

Sounds likes its a clone that's been bricked by an update

Thanks for the reply. Not not updated it at all. It worked fine for like 2 days and then i come to switch it on and it wont. Tried unplugging and plugging back in but same problem

EDIT: problem occured like a couple of weeks ago before the new codes issue

Is this a hardware issue or can it it be fixed by updating?

You could try jTAGing it. There's lots of info including pictures in this section on how to jTAG a box.

This will wipe the box clean of all firmware and then you flash the firmware onto the box again

Is it the remote thats not working or wont it respond from the buttons on the box as well.
Got my box from Cleverbase I've updated the firmware and all is OK.
I would try updating to see if it cures the problem

Hi,

both the remote and the actual physical button on the box dont work

I will try to update the firmware once my serial port add-in card arrives and see if that helps

Ok I tried to update by connecting the eurovox to my pc via the null cable that came with the box and the built in serial port on my motherboard and it wont work. I followed the guides here but it keeps saying 'Receiver was not detected'. Changed com ports and same thing. any advice?

Dunno as box wont get out of standby mode so cannot get to the menu to check
