Default plasma trouble

just like to say hello to everyone before i post my first thread and thank anyone who goes to the trouble to try to help me.stuck at work at mo so might not be able to reply straight away to any help received but here goes.turning phillips plasma on,tv & box comin on as normal,green light clicks on on both next thing tv goes into standby mode with red light flashin then box turns off,av had trouble with eurovox but sorted that thanks to this forum & bigmaq,thanks to both,could this av owt to do with problems?thanks again for any help & will reply when i get first chance

Is your plasma connected by scart between cable box and tv? Also I dont think Philips have made plasmas for a while so is it ok on other inputs like dvd or another box?

Again, can you try connecting your cable box to another tv to see if the box is ok?

ah, you live in trafford then? make sure your scarts are in properly because if your tv thinks nothing is plugged in it will put its self in to sleep mode. try hooking it up through normal aerial wire and tune it in to a channel number like the old times.

cheers for the advice boys got it goin after a bit of fiddlin about with the scarts thanks for makin the effort to help me,yes i am from trafford & im going to make sure i put extra effort into makin your cornflakes tonite
