Hi, I'm David from England.

For some time I've been trying to think of the best way to try to get Premiere Sport channel from Germany, and some German films. http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/premiere.html

After reading the Sticky: "So, where do I start then?" I've realised it doesn't have to be as expensive or as complicated as I feared.

From what I gather, for under ~£150 I could get a Triax TD88 sat dish and a Technomate receiver. Then patch it.

Apar from some fittings and wires & connectors, is it really that easy to get these German channels (without having to pay subscription)?

The lyngsat uri says it is on Astra 1G/1H/1L at 19.2°E. Does that mean that the sat dish will need to face East from my house?

Before you spend a single Eurocent be aware that yes Premiere is available at the moment but it could go away at any time, and later in the year will definitely be going secure - at which point only a valid subscription will get it.

A jeez, finally thought I'd found a way of getting their service from the UK.

Maybe just have to get the satelite setup and pay Premiere subscription?

Premiere is NOT cheap if you have to use a uk reseller....

Oh my god, that is insane! I'm not that interested! lol I only want to see their DEL Eis Hockey coverage. Maybe I can get it cheaper if I have a German home address I can use for the correspondence.

Is there any other way of getting Premiere?

Yes - you can get it on card share - and will probably still be able to once the package goes secure.

HOWEVER either you have to join a commercial one (not very secure as anyone can join - no doubt including some of the providers) or be accepted into a ring of friends doing it.

Just wondering why the providers would join, is it just to check how much they have been compromised?

To keep an eye on things - its far easier to compromise things if you are on the inside
