Default compro videomate dvb s350 no signal

I have just bought a Compro Videomate Dvb S350 PCI Satellite TV Tuner card and connected this to an existing Sky Digital minidish (oval type) that the previous house owner said was working OK and all we needed was a Sky box. I have used the existing cable.
I have fitted the card and loaded the software and I get "No Signal when I search.
I have check that the green light is lit of the card - the instructions say if this is lit then it's working.

I have:
1. Enabled LNB Power.

2. Used the default Universal LNB setting.

3. Selected Astra 2a

4. Clicked "Apply" before scanning.

5. Changed the cable.

6. Changed the PCI slot.

7. Tried DVBProg and DVBDream software

I have also attached a multimeter across the two terminals of the "F" connector with the cable and directly whilst scanning and these how no amps or volts used.

Does this mean the card is faulty or have I missed a step?

Hi,

On the LNB input of a receiver there should be a voltage of between 12.5 and 18V, this would be to provide a power supply for th LNB.

When using the multimeter it should be set to volts when placing the probes across the outer to inner on the F-conector.

You cannot measure current by placing the probes accross theF-connector, and in fact should not, when the multmeter is in current mode, as it will short it out.
