Have a Starview Super and I've noticed a problem with the aspect ratio. Some channels aren't able to be viewed in widescreen.

Setanta Sports for example is broadcast in widescreen on my Dbox2 but not on the Starview Super. Is this just a problem with the Starview or is there something not configured properly?

you could try menu>user set up > and change the aspect ratio in there

I have, it's set for 16:9.

Like I say, it's fine on some channels but not working on others.

just a fault with them, u have been told how to fix it.

Exactly the same problem, user set up as no effect with me either,

Setanta news picture does not display the league tables correctly,i thought for a split secound that chelsea fc can not catch man u fc, then i reliased i was looking at goal difference, because it had cut the pts off lol : )

jytees can you change the aspect ratio on your tv instead, just a thought, i can not with mine.

shortcut for the 16.9 (letterbox) screen on the starview2 and starview super..... press the blue button on the remote control.
works on some channels and not on others

The only way for me, to physically change the screen is :-

1) User set up press 16:9 not 4:3
2) Exit out,
3) Blue button, from full screen to Letter screen.

But the resulting outcome is a black vertical border down each side of the picture, you see a bit more of the picture, but you still are missing some of it.
If i had a decent tv, then i might be able to change the seting's on my T.V.to over come the problem.

Aspect ratio on the tele matters not a jot. It's auto but changing it manually doesn't work.

The blue short cut key works fine. Seems like some channels are just not being beemed to the box in widescreen.

Jimbo alluded to the fact that there was a fix somewhere but unfortunately he's keeping it to himself!
