hiya

make sure you download your cdf file first. this will save your channel list etc as they are currently. Once youve updated the firmware then upload the cdf file again

Are you missing channels? Don't know way round it myself - you could try looking in the sticky for CDF files and see if there is one there that you can use.

on old firmware I just used to do a channel update and the new channels would appear at the end of the channel list in TV.

The new firmware has an auto arrange on it or something. I have been caught out with this as it messed up my favs when i lost a channel earlier in the week and had to scan for it.
The only way i found to keep everything the same was to take a note of the frequency on which the old channel was, upload the cdf to laptop, rescan the frequency to find the lost channel, again upload the cdf to laptop and save it to a different name so that you have 2 cdf files.
I then used voxer to read the settings of the channel lost on both the cdf files and manually change the setting on my origonal file to be the same as the latest after scan file. I then saved and downloaded the origonal cdf back to the eurovox.

Its a real pain in the arse but I dont think you can switch the auto arrange off (unless any of you chaps know differently)

Or you could put the old firmware back on , load your cdf onto it, do a scan, save your cdf put new firmware back on and put your new cdf on. That way you fav dont get messed up
