Default What are these codes for?

Hi all

been reading around what to do when I get my Eurovox 2008, and come across this thread at Afterdawn forums where they are constantly writing codes (look like hex). like this :*** censored **** [very sorry about that]

What are these codes?

Do you often need to put codes into your Eurovox or something?

thanks in advance.

edit your post and remove the keys or you will get banned by mods. the codes are encryptions to scramble the channels so people without a subscription cant watch them.

You don't need to put in keys as the current software auto-updates again

Very sorry, I didn't realise it was a non-allowed thing to post. I didn't mean any harm by it I just wanted to show you what I meant by the hex codes i'd seen.

*edit - notice you've done it thanks* I am enjoying this forum really don't want to be banned so soon!

Thanks for the response lincsat. Is the auto-update seamless? or does the picture cut out while the codes change?

Is it really as simple as plugging and playing with the 2008 compared to the older ones?

yep plug and play, when the codes automatically update the screen will go blank and a message saying "please wait to update codes" will appear. takes upto 2mins but never does. these boxes are the most simplest things to use. any probs and just log in to this forum and it wont be a prob for long. you would of been warned before you got banned, just thought i'd save you a warning.

cheers mate, can't belive how simple it sounds.

Only reservation I have is that I dont know whether there's any indication to VM that this box is on the end by means of noise on the line etc, I tried another thread about this but no joy, noone seems to know.

there is no talkback on these boxes so vm will get no feedback from it. if there was this section of the forum would no longer exist and there would be alot of people with fines.

Yea I read that there is no talk back but I just wondered if adding the box altered the Line Attenuation or SNR, which perhaps could be a way of VM telling that something else is present...
