Default Help Updating

Hi all, i have tried to dowload the latest software, i have installed the driver for my usb cable then i click on download on the software and it is coming up with

COM 1

Start

It comes up with the reciever was not detected, if you want to download the firmware in the boot mode click ok below and ac power on your reciever. and has a list of com1 2 3 or 4 so i select com 1 and it just stays on

Waiting for the response of your reciever

Please can someone help me

try to chamge to com3 and see if that helps

what o/s do you have? ive heard the usb/serial cables and drivers can be a bit tempremental more so on vista

the cable must be a null modem cable as the are diferent types of the same cable

I am using my laptop which is on windows xp sp2 i am using the usb to rs232 cable from ebay and the rs232 cable that came with my eurovox i took it that it would be a null modem cable as it came with my box, could i be wrong?

Would assume it to be a null cable if it came with your box. Lots of people having problems installing new firmware. Computer drivers and unavailable com ports seem to be an issue. Try changing to different port for USB adapter (between 1 to 4). Otherwise I would suggest you use your null cable on it's own on a computer with a 9 pin connection.

An area on your computer containing 9 pins to connect to your null cable. Exactly the same as the one contained on the back of your Eurovox. You have more of a chance of an older computer having one.

Check what port your USB adapter is on under device manager and change it if necessary, see my reply to the Com Port Help post in this forum for details.
