You need the following..

1) Null modem cable ( Connects PC to BOX )

2) GTrom loader.. Can be got from numerous websites ( google it )

3) .bin file with the latest firmware for your box.

Make sure you load the CORRECT firmware for your particular box. Failure to do this could brick ( kill ) your box

What to do..:

1) Connect box to PC via null modem with power on box off.

2) Open GTrom loader and click BIN file button.

3) select your bin file that you are loading onto the box.

4) turn box on and wait for the "on" display.

5) Hit download on GTrom loader and you should see a progress bar on screen and you box should start going up from 1 --> 100

6) When at 100, wait for FINISH CMD SEND display to comple and your box will reset.

7) plug into telly and enjoy

:-)

One other check you can do is on the box.

Press menu and go to system information.

Post back the info that is displayed on screen..

If you have API 4.0 then you just need to reflash with the CryptStar-v1.4-Core400 firmware

which is available on the bigmaq toolbar under updates/fixes -- starview fix 10/4/2008

Google bigmaq to get the toolbar.
