Default sirius & Amos but no Thor!

I've managed to find both sirius & Amos but I can't for the life of me find Thor!! I know it is in between those two but no matter how slight I move the dish I just cannot locate it!!! Any suggestions?

Where are you located, what size dish are you using? And if you are in western Europe are you sure you are receiving Amos - the signals are exceptionally weak over here.

Hull, East Yorks. I'm using an 85 cm dish. I have a Fortec Star Passion reciever . I knew that I had a strong signal for a sat so I went through each sat on the system to see which had a signal. It was Sirius. Strong too. I gradually move it westward, until I got another signal. It was very close. Very little movement between the two. Again, I selected the sats around Sirius on the receiver to see which had the signal and it was Amos. Both the strength indicators were around 70%.

Is my receiver deceiving me? I really wanted Thor!

I also have the Fortec Star Passion HD receiver, and i find it very dodgy when coming to receiving channels from certain satellites.

I have a fixed dish on 28.2 E and receive all channels on it.

But i can flick through other satellites and have signals on them... Which i don't think is possible...

I have also managed to receive channels through other satellites apparantly, but there just ones from Astra 2 (28.2) which i find strange.

You cannot rely on the signal quality reading alone.

You must do a scan to see what channels there are and see if they match up to what you were expecting.

Just scan the single transponder.

Yes, it is possible, because other satellites share the same transponder frequencies.
But as above, doing a scan will prove that you are being deceived.

Ah right, ok then. I just thought it was strange that after doing a Multisat scan for the fun of it, i could receive channels from 13.0, 19.2, 23.5, 26, 28.2, and 33.0 E

Thought it was the Fortec being weird, guess not then..

Guess its not what i was thinking then yat360

Well, I've now aligned the dish to Sirius. That's what it tells me. there are a nuber of scrambled channels a lot are under the banner Premiere. From the writing they appear to be German!

That is 19.2E then.

Make a note of a channel name and frequency and consult Lyngsat.
