Lost dvd controller £38

Can't belive it was decorating the other day and now can't find the dvd controller. I would't mind but i can't play dvd's without it
Plus without it i can't select what type of surround ie 2ch or cinema

It's a sony davsr1 and the chepest i found was 38 quid

will a sony strdg500 remote work it? its off my old surround sound av receiver. i dont need the remote anymore because me an the missus had a row and i smashed the amp to bits. if it will work i will send it for free to you mate. in fact heres the pic
