Default dbox1 for Cable

OK this is the point where the cable mods rip the s**t out of me

Like Jimdefruit i like a challenge and have decided its time to have a little play with cable

What i need to know is (as i've spent that much money on my sat stuff my wife would remove my knack**s with a blunt knife if i start spending loads on cable stuff) are Cable dbox 1s any use in the UK.

The reason one is asking is that i know where to get my hands on one cheap so its perfect for playing with

If i spend the £10 on it the guy wants for it i won't be risking the family jewels either

I already have a dbox1 for satellite which i got for £10 although this is proving more useless than the current government, although my daughter does like the fact she can now watch cbeebies in her bedroom

Anyway back to the question in hand

Its running DVB2000 and i've no idea if its in debug mode as i'll admit i know knob all about them. Can anything be done with this box or am i going to waste another £10

I am not an expert with regard to Dbox 1 but everything that I've heard and read suggests that you would be wasting your £10. Stick to Dbox 2.

DVB2000 (What the dbox1 uses) has now become open source so new things could be happening quite soon.

Why is it everyone keeps relating to Dbox forum as a Dreambox as there 2 completely different boxes

Get a dbox2 in debug mode then you can have auto update keys and every chanel just need to flash a image do a search and enter keys thats it!!!!

Probly get one of ebay some people put them down cheap because of the key changes and they think they have broken so sellin as faulty. All u need to do is copy over the nagrarom files if it is just the key changes and you will pick up all the channels again.

Can probly get for about 30 - 50 quid for a faulty key change one not sure tho. Just make sure the key change is the only problem. I read a couple on ebay that just pick up free to air channels that will porbly be because of the keys changing. That what my DBOX 2 did.
