Unhappy Help Eurovox max v Dead or something

Hi everyone

I have a eurovox max v black box. I tried to flash the firmware to the new april kuro3.

I am using a USB adapter and a null modem cable on vista 32.

It shows my box as version 2.1 it starts to send the data but it freezes its stopped so far on 2% 10% 11% 41% 50% 67% 88% it changes every time i try to flash.

Does anyone know how i can fix this as the firmware that was on the box is not there now, my box is dead it will not upload.

Im sure its Vista that is the problem, this has happened before...if you can get hold of a computer using XP Im pretty sure it will download ok.....For some reason Vista doesn't like the USB/Null modem combination lead ....Having said that it is not unknown for that type of lead to have problems in doing the job ...a serial to serial is by far the best connection ....OR you could look on Ebay for an rs232 pci card that fits on your computer that would give you the proper connection ....

Looks like vista or the USB to RS232 converter was to blame.

I tried using a PC with XP and a serial COM port, Worked first time....!

Got the box working in around 10mins just in time for the football so thank you for the advice and help.

Hello,
I have the same problem with the procedure to update an FTA HEAD HD 500.
I have the same serial cable usb (ch341ser): what driver did you use? You can send them to me or write me where to download them?
Thank you.

Michele
