Default Photo of freesat SD & HD receivers in comet from the 22nd April

Most comet stores will have the grundig SD & HD receivers in stock from the 22nd of April i have put one on order at my local store and am picking it up on the 22nd of April,

When i went in to comet they did not have a clue what i was talking about but i got them to check stock on their pc and it said stock due in store 22nd,

Excellent news rd.

£50 isn't too bad for a basic box I suppose, and effectively plug and play for those already with a sky dish I presume.

I wonder when the HD PVR versions are being released.

I hope they work better than the first Sky Digital Grundig boxes

£150 does seem cheep for a HD box, hopefully Sky will drop the price of their HD box now.

Online order dates have now also changed tonight if you order online now you can have it delivered on the 22nd April as well now,

The specification seems a bit sparse. Digital sound output does not appear to be included and as BBC have stated that most of their HD programmes will be broadcast with 5.1 sound this seems a big ommission.

Does anyone know which sat/transponders will be used by Freesat?

No ideas what transponders will be used but you can guarentee they will be the ones on Astra 2D

Not necessarily. It could be Eurobird 1 which would give a better coverage.

No BBC or ITV transponders will change. C4 is moving to 2D for reasons of coverage/rights.
