If it just happens to be a clone then it would be worthwhile changing the image. Install a maxvar image from DS or EDG and you will be safe and have a few more options than you get from Gemini.

Download the image to your PC and then use Dreamup and a null modem serial cable to install the new image. You can either save your current settings to pc or install new settings when your new image is installed.

thanks..... i fear the worst so i am going to change image asap.
what programe should i use to back up my channel list and boutique etc?
also may i ask how hard is it to set up your vbox?
i have my db set up on ucals with a 80cm dish & motor at the moment. how hard is it to set up a jaager 1224 sm and 1.2m channel master & c120 on my dm500s?

Re setting up a v-box. I put up a post a while back on how to do it. I will search it out and give the link.

The v-box is controlled by the Dreambox and as such you think everything is being done by the Dreambox. The useful thing is that the v-box remembers all the sat positions and providing you make a note of the numbers for each of the sats, you can just tell the Dreambox to go to a sat number and the dish will turn to that position. Just save that position in the Dreambox sat lists and all is done. Very easy if like me you want to do things without using pc programmes to save things.
