Default Pace Box Sound Problems

I did it yesterday, all updates were fine. All channels available but NO Sound. I did all the routine trial and error checks with the help of wonderful people here. I basically have no sound either from scart or RF audio cable. The sound is fine when I switch to the origional box.

After doing a bit of reading here and there, I came across an article explaining how you can access the engineers menu on the box. So I did that minus live feed (of course). The article guided me to the fourth screen titled Remodulator output. I did this and found:

Low Attenuation

Volume Control -10 (minus!)

Remodulator Channel 52

Basically the site says that the Volume control should be ideally set to +10 (plus!). So I altered the volume to +10 and pressed TV to save but IT WILL NOT SAVE! I switched it off and on and re checked the engineers menu again reverts to -10 (minus).

Could this be my problem? I can't think of any thing else now. what do i need to do to set the volume to +10 permanently?

I do have a 9 pin male RS USB Cable. Can I change the volume setting by using a software on my computer? if yes please guide me.

Cheers

Red you beauty, sound problems sorted. I did as you advised ie looked at tv guide - settings - and turned up the audio - for some reason it was set on zero.

Some times the best solutions are SIMPLEST
