The blue box firmware is not for the eurovox 2,
download the bigmaq toolbar if you have not already done so, click updates/fixes, then eurovox, then eurovox 1+2, then Eurovox 2 AU Fix -- by sunrise you will also need to get the loader utility DnUpMan to put the firmare onto the box |

The colour is actually related to the colour of the cardboard box that the EV was packaged in. The EV's themselves look identical on the outside but are different models.
Eurovox 1 Eurovox 2 Eurovox Max 2006 (blue) Eurovox Max 2007 (red) Eurovox MaxV 2008 (black) Flashing with the EV2 software will overwrite the blue software |

Ive put the EV2 fix on but when i go in the menu it loses everything.
i then have to navigate to installation and powerscan. i only know where it is as ive done it so many times. would there be any reasons why it loses all the names in the menu and all the channel names? scanning bring everything back togthr. |

If flashing the box has the same effect on the EV2 as the other Eurovoxes then it is normal to lose all your channels and have to re-scan.
For the future though you can take a back-up of your channels using Voxer (find it in the downloads section) and after flashing the new firmware onto the box, you simply restore your CDF file onto the box from your pc (Channel Definition File). This way you don't need to re-scan or re-do your favs |

I've had the exact same problem, flashed the ev2 with the new firmware, and restored the CDF file which i backed up before flashing, yet every now and again, i lose all the channels, all channel names disappear, all i get is a blank screen on every channel, then when i go to menu, all the menu selection and everything is gone, the only way i can get it back is if i unplug it and plug it in again.
This never happened with the old ev2 firmware. |
