Default BBC News 24 on SilvercCrest

Hi Guys, dug out the instructions for my SL65 at the weekend to try and enter the above info, I had info from Lyngsat and entered the Video and Audio PID but it asked for the PCR PID which I couldn't recognise from the lyngsat info anyway, I entered what I had and it showed on my channel list but no signal! any ideas what I need to do next?

Thanks in advance

Not sure how the setup works on the Silvercrest SL65 but you should just be able to tell it to scan a certain transponder

I'm guessing you mean News 24 not just 24
  • BBC News 24 is on 11954.00MHz, pol.H SR:27500 FEC:2/3

Good Afternoon.

I have a comag, you do not need to put in pids, you only require
the freq and either 22000 or 27500 etc, use manual tune only.

If you can not find the channel I will guide you, remember Lyngsat, flysat, king of sats at times give out the wrong
freqs. In this instance it was correct, put it in my own comag without trouble

See my other reply, if you use manual tune, no need for pids at all.

Tried to enter that numbers but is would not accept 5 digits, ok I was maybe entering them in the wrong place, how do you enter them manually? I did use the number five button and then 5 again to create and that brought up the menu where I enetered the fugures.

Thanks in advance

Ok follow these steps.

1.while watching say BBC 1, press menu button(2nd from left) everything is now using the 4 keys around ok,nothing else.

2.you will now be looking at the main board, scroll down from channel manager to system installation, using the remote.

3.press V+ to send the curser to the other side, using the remote key of the CH(bottom) scroll down to manual tune, press ok.

The screen will now show manual tune page. this is how it should be
inputted, using number keys also

satellite Astra 28.2 this should be there already
transponder IGNORE THIS
FREQ put in the five numbers 11954, if errored go back
Sym 27500
horizontal
Skew 00
Channel type put to TV (selection here use TV in this case)
Network search off

PRESS OK, when everything is collected up to 20 seconds,if it says do you want to retain tell it yes, this does not always appear.

the screen will now revert to main board.

press exit twice, BBC news etc should be there.

when I said ignore transponder, these will have changed since the comags manufacture.

If this fails I will give you my phone number via PM and talk you through.

Hi Merlodlliw,
Had a go at using your instructions and on trying your first step this is what I got, my SL 65 is 3 years old.
Pressed menu and this is the first screen
Channel page
TV channael list
Radio channel list
Delete all

Pressed V+ and this is what I got
Instalation page
Antenna set up
Auto scan
TP scan
Preset scan

Pressed V+ again
System set up page
Launguage
Channel set up
Time & timer setting
OSD setting
Parental lock
LNB power

Pressed V+ again
Tools page
Information
Game
Default value
Software upgrade

So couldn't get passed the first stage, my box may have different soft ware, could not find any manual set up page.
I also noticed BBC 1 & 2 Scotland are gone, thats three channels I need to find, probably more will change in the next few weeks for freesat, more fun to come then. Pity a simple scan couldn't pick them up again!

No you will have the same software, ill see where you have gone, on my own set.

Press menu , on the left you will see channel manager, drop down to the next one system installation.press ok
On system installation go over to manual tune.

I think you have stayed on channel manager the top one of about 4.
look at my remarks marked number 2 in my guide thread 8.
