Default Problems with Sagem DBox

Hi guys,

I am a complete newbie.

I was given a Sagem DBOX Multimedia Box last week just after the keyroll (it is the 2 x chip version), the problem is that it doesn't receive any tv channels at all, not even the free to air ones. When I was given it, it had sportster on it so I ftp'd the fix into it but still nothing. Since then i have ftp'd Commando 8.2 into it from BigMaq's toolbar I have copied the 3 Nagrarom.bin fixes to the var/keys folder and updated box.I still can't get any picture. The EPG is working 100% and the time is correct. I have managed to scan around 160 channels but I just can't get a picture. Sometimes it looks like it's trying, I get a very blocky image of the channel that it's trying to show (free to air) but the picture just pauses. I have tried evocam etc and also ghanged the Ucodes 001, 014 etc. I really have come to a brick wall now. I wonder if anyone can help as I have been trying for about a week. I know my signal is ok coming off v/m as my Pace box works fine!

Thanks humforce, I have done what you said and pressed the red button followed by the blue. i think i have found the problem but I don't know how to fix it, anyway on the reception monitor screen I get good reading for (ber, snr and bitrate) but the signal reads 0. i done this test on a few channels but it was roughly the same results! So it looks like the box isn't receiving properly! This is odd as the EPG works fine. I have also found the ITV2 channel tries to work best, in other words when I am on ITV2 I can see the image of the channel 'fairly' clearly but it only updates the image every 30 to 40 secs which is like a real slow ftime lapse, lol. But even on this channel the reception monitor shows 0 for sig. It also show 25 frames per sec which i'm obviously not getting.
So is my box faulty or is there a setting/ firmware u/g I can change to get it going. As I said in the last post this box worked 100% before the key roll! if it is broken then that is certainly coincedental.

Make sure you are using AVIA600 (if you can find it) UCODE 001A, have SPTS mode set to off.

Your BER needs to be as low as possible and the SNR really wants to be at around 60,000

Tried that, still no joy.
i just tried the LAKY-PRO firmware but still getting problem. This firware does work better. It is displaying the tv programme slightly better, I am able to make out what channel i'm on and the pic is fairly clear even the scrammbled channels (discovery etc) but it is still like it is 'time-lapse' but not as bad as the commando firmware, it now refreshes around every 10 secs and is pixelating! It looks like we're getting there slowly i think that this box of mine is tempremental!

Try this image, it's old and will need the updated ROM's, but I'm told it does work on some iffy sagems.

do you have a x1 version as i have a friends box thats giving me problems. None of the other 5 boxes i have sorted for friends and family have had any problems like this one.

I did have a programme to convert images to x1 and x2 but lost it after my recent format.

I think it was
Image Works JFFS2 Image Converter

Anyone have this programme to put in the downloads area

It's a 2x chipset box.

Ok I tried that lincsat image but found it to be much worse than any other image that I have tried! So far the best image for me was the LAKY-PRO but it still didn't work properly. I am starting to think that the box is faulty!

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Imageworks is now in the links.

You could also try physically removing the modem from the box
