Default Original sky dish

I still have my sky dish up from years ago, it's a minidish. I was just wondering if there is any use for this type of dish or should i take it down and put up a bigger dish for my experiment in sat tv. I didnt really want to take it down cus im not intrested in getting every channel right now just want to see how sat works.

Hi,

The Sky minidishes are a bit on the small side for satellite hobbyists but still OK for a few satellites. Obvious all the channels on the satellites at 28E can be picked up as well as many from 13E,19.2E,23.5E and 42E and a few others.

If the dish is a bit old, you may need to change the LNB though, they only cost a few quid.

Hi mate,
Have a look at what Lincsat has he does do some very good deals. You could always pop him a PM and ask him what he has and I am sure he will sort you out in no time.

Very best regards Wez

One of the Technomates should do fine.

The TM5200 is about £50, with no card or CAM slot. The TM5400CI+ has the card and CAM slot, I think it's about £80.

You can also have a look at southern satellite. He has a section towards the bottom of the forum. He has been doing quite a few good deals lately

Hi all,

I meant to say Southern Satellite, but said Lincsat, but no harm done, as I am now mentioning Southern, thanks Nano. Southern was doing some very good priced systems and indeed some very competative HD boxes also.

Very best regards Wez
