Default debug mode

i have a samsung 2100 running version 3.6 software, i follow all the instructions, but what ever i do, it wont go into debug mode...

i hold down button in wen i see ld:20, let go wen i see Ld:40... my display goes back to ld:00 and all the way round again, throgh he ld numbers then the PL numbers and finally the through the AP numbers with the light turning green around AP:30

i tried a secong box, also running 3.6 and it does the exact same thing... i know u'll most prob think am doing something wrong, but i really aint... is this because they are running 3.6 firmware? if so, how do i get into debug mode?

it does seem that 3.6 does not activate 'debug mode' the same way the earlier versions did. i could not get into debug mode at all, so i changed my net id to a 3.5 area, and i got straight in... now i'm running back with version 3.6, i can no longer get debug mode...
